Quick Facts

Teachers study energy transfer and assess new teaching tools.
Applications accepted now, beginning in April 2008.
Notification of acceptance and group assignment in September 2008.
Participants attend a two-week workshop at MSOE in the summer of 2009 or 2010 and professional development activities in the following year.
Data will be collected throughout the school years of 2009 - 2011.
There is no cost to participate, but there is a $50 transcript fee.
Participants will receive a $250 stipend, instructional models and materials and six special graduate credits.*
Housing is provided during the workshop for those not able to drive home in the evening.
Workshop dates: (Random assignment to one or the other)
Group A, Summer of 2009 (Monday, August 3 – Friday, August 14)
Group B, Summer of 2010 (Monday, August 2 – Friday, August 13)
Attendance for all participants is required the first half day of both workshops.
Please note that the application is designed to allow us to match participants across education and teaching experience so as to create evenly matched groups.
No particular expertise is required other than it is likely that you will teach biology in the 2009-2010 and 2010 - 2011 school years.
